Found this site while trying to get info for a friend of mine.

He got pulled on Mon morning, while on his way to work, and failed a breath test. It was about 5 hours after he had finished drinking. The intoximeter readings at the station were 50 and 45 so he had to have a blood test. This was taken about 45 mins after the intoximeter readings. about 45 mins after the blood test he gave another breath sample and was 30 so it is going to be really close.

He is having his sample independantly tested - the waiting for results is killing him (the police told him 5 - 8 weeks wait)

Any support/suggestions gratefully recieved.

Hi,

There is little your friend can do but wait for the results to come through and take things from there. A lot of people get caught out by driving the morning after the night before, thinking they will be ok to drive. Let us know how your friend gets on. I bet he/she will think twice, next time, about driving the morning after drinking the night before.

just to update - his police blood test came back at 92 :(

no wondering what to do - there are so many solicitors out there claiming to be specialists how do you choose one for you? I guess it makes sense to have representation but don't know how to go about it. need to try and get him the min poss (hell suppose thats what everyone wants isn't it)

Anyone got any ideas/used a firm that was good/knows what sort of questions to ask to get the best one for him???

thanks in advance

Hi Spider,

There certainly is a lot to choose from. Stephensons Law Firm who advise on this forum are very good. Several people have used their services who use the forum and have been more than pleased with the result. They represent people all over the UK. You can view their recommendations here and here.

I feel this is the best way to choose a solicitor, word of mouth, people who recommend them after using their service. You can also use our drink driving solicitors directory to find solicitors who specialise in drink driving and motoring law.

Best of luck to your friend for the upcoming court case.
