What’s the possibility of being able to keep licence to attend chemotherapy?

Hi all, hope someone can give a little advice.

My ex was caught drink driving 2 night ago after crashing her car into a bollard. She blew 61 and is due to attend court in 2 weeks.

She is a complete idiot for what she has done and completely agree she deserves to be banned. That said, she’s going through crap right now with going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. She starts radiotherapy in December every working day for 4 weeks. That’s 20 trips to the hospital which is 40 miles away. It’s a nightmare to get there by public transport due to her living in a rural location.

My question is, what are the chances of A, being able to receive points instead of a ban or B, being able to have the ban deferred until after radiotherapy has been done.

Any ideas?

Short answers
A = 0
B = 0
Legal Aid = 0 (not available for drink driving unless there is a likelihood of prison, which there isn’t here)

her only hope might be if she asked for an adjournment as she needs to obtain legal advice. It depends on which court she is at, but they might only grant a 2 week adjournment. If it is a busy court it is conceivable that they might ajourn for 4 weeks and because that is Christmas time they put it off until January. That is a long shot though.

Not good then. Ah well thanks for the reply
