Close, the information has to be laid to raise a summons within 6 months, it then has to be served on you, which can take 3-4 weeks......

I see on the solicitors part that you say you were charged, so the same principle applies as to a summons being raised, it has to be done within 6 months. So long as that is done within 6 months, it does not matter if the actual hearing is much later, even a year or more. The 6 months rule is only in relation to the starting of the procedure to bring you to court, not when the court case is held.
