Hey all, I have been lurking around for a week but feel ready to reach out now. I got caught a week ago and blew 97 at the roadside after crashing my car, no one was hurt luckily, and then at the station blew 79 and 95, so inconclusive, so I had to give bloods. I now have to wait 2-3 months to get to court. So some how I have to 'carry on as normal' until then and try and keep things together.

I panicked the day after and rang a specialist solicitor as I read about the potential prison sentence and so needed advice. I then agreed to pay £2K to have them represent me from now until court. I have not signed anything yet though. They said they would obtain all police records etc. I have now been reading this forum a lot and it looks as though I am just as well off using a duty solicitor maybe in my case. Any advice would be really good.

I am presuming my bloods will come back and put me in the HRO category, is that worth then having a separate solicitor rather than the duty, but a cheaper local one literally for the court appearance.

Thank you
T

Good morning. I would recommend you seek the advice of a local solicitor.

Fingers crossed your bloods come back lower than you anticipate.

Thank you, I think I might just call them and ask for a refund. I will have enough to pay out soon.

They caught me when I was most vulnerable I think, now I have had so time to get my head around it I just want to take the punishment and learn from it. I just wish the wait was not so long.

Probably goes without saying, but you have absolutely no chance of going to prison unless the crash was much more serious than you are saying here.

Thank you! When I read the sentencing guidelines the day after, I panicked but from looking now, it does seem unlikely.
