Return of driving license fee

Do you get your driving licence fee back from DVLA if you didn't get to go for the medical.

Just an update . After numerous attempts to make human contact a DVLA spokesperson explained the procedure to me. DVLA follow up medical appointments with their appointed doctor and if their doctor can not confirm you have booked your medical, then your application for a driving licence is cancelled and your driving licence fee is returned to you.
