Jailed for DD can I still apply for Course?

New member
I was convicted of Dangerous Driving causing serious injury and sentenced to prison and banned for 50 months, I have just been released am I still able to complete course as only just been made aware through probation but online is saying the court need to do it at time of sentencing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The probation advice is correct, you have to be offered and accept the course before the end of the court proceedings. There is no option to have it offered after that. Normally someone can ask for their licence back after half their ban, subject to a minimum of 2 years having elapsed but as you were convicted of dangerous driving as well then even that is not available to you.....
