I would very much appreciate your advice. I was arrested for DD a month ago and blew 122 in breath at roadside. I was involved in a collision and didn’t stop which I don’t remember as was in blackout (I’ve since accepted that I’m an alcoholic). I was taken straight to hospital as I had a minor bump to the head and had a blood test some 6 hours later taken by the police doctor (tiny amount as was so dehydrated). I’ve been bailed to go back to the police station in November.
It’s my first offence and I had a clean licence.
My question is, is a custodial sentence likely?
I haven’t had a drink since and have started going to AA and am also attending day rehab. I’ll have good character references for court.
Also, do you think I’ll need a solicitor?
