Brilliant, thanks for your help i'll have a quick nose in a minute to see if I can get a nice quote. :D

& To gibbo87 it was a straight drink driving conviction with 84mg of breath. But on some policies you don't have to declare reading. No points.
And the renault clio is a 1.2 litre 2002 plate. I might have to downgrade to a 1.0 litre toyota yaris or something lol.

well i also got a call from a company and they got me down to £2549 and they said if i had work full time it would of been alot cheaper...also ive been asked for mg of breath on both and any other convictions not related to driving..

I got my best quote from Admiral, £750 fully comp on a 2.4 litre Volvo S60. I'm 39 years old though and have 8 years no claims. You might also find that if you have a spouse or partner, adding them to the policy actually brings the price down.

£1180 on a 2008 Toyota Aygo. I'm 36 and female and got 18 months reduced to 13 thru DD course. Had to bump my excess up to £500 to get this!!!

Sorry, am I missing something here. How can you have 8 years no claims if you were banned and lost your licence? You lost your no claims when you lost your licence.

please,,,,,,, all try tesco,, i was getting quotes 1700, tesco got it for 616, even cheaper if you got a tresco points card,, good luck

Yes, I didn't lose my insurance policy, I lost my driving licence. Two separate things. The car remained insured throughout the term of my ban, and the no claims bonus is something the insurance company give you to encourage claim-free policies; it has nothing to do with being banned.

Picked a Focus 2002 1.8TD as the car, and searched over 50 companies (including comparision sites etc). Tesco was cheapest by some distance, £1200 fully comp. Had to add a named driver with full ncd though otherwise would've been £1800. Currently banned for 34 months, 31 yr old male.

20 years old, banned in March 2010 for 12 months, quoted £1900 for a mk4 Astra 1.4 from Endsleigh.co.uk. I hear Tesco are cheap too, but i haven't tried them yet.

Can I also point out to Fruity1, that when you get banned for drink driving, you don't 'lose' your license as such, it just gets suspended. When you get your license back, you still have the same driver number. Remember when getting quotes, to enter the date you FIRST passed your test, when it asks you how long you have held your license, regardless of any ban.
