There are a lot of frustrated posters on here (including me) so hopefully this may be of some help. After waiting (im)patiently for months following my renewal application, Price1367 advised about making a formal compliant. Back them, I wasn't even aware there was such a process.
The DVLA complaint process has three steps:
Formal complaint
Independent Claim Assessor
Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
Each step has to have been fully investigated and responded to by the DVLA before the complaint can be progressed to the next level.
For what it's worth, my complaint is with the ICA as the effing DVLA (despite being informed twice by the relevant court) refuses to acknowledge that my ban was revoked five months ago.
