General Drinkdriving.org Discussion Subsection

Hi Admin,

I have a suggestion for the following title/header for "Forum and Site Help, Comments & Suggestions". How about something like "Forum & Site Help", instead of "General Drinkdriving.org Discussion"?

I've noticed that a few new users have recently been posting in this subsection by mistake. After speak to a few people, and from my own thoughts, I believe it is because of the title. Users see 'General ..... Discussion' and believe that it's the place to post anything not directly related to drink/drug driving or DVLA medical related questions.

Maybe a title change and putting a informative notice ("READ BEFORE POSTING..."), similar to the one now on the free legal advice section, would also be a good idea? Maybe sign-posting users to "https://www.forum.drinkdriving.org/forums/general-discussion.10/", if they wish to post a thread for 'general discussion'.

I've stopped making the suggestion to users that they should ask for the post to be moved as I suspect it only makes your life more difficult, having to move the thread and my reply (leaving my reply would just cause confusion after the thread had been moved). And of course creating a duplicate thread means that the user has to create it with a different title, otherwise it won't get created, and then you've also got to remove the original.

Well I’m am a new user on here and it’s been the main problem I’m having with the site and that is not knowing how or what to do where

Its very simple, you just go to the section of the forum that you would like to create a thread in. A list of the sections can be found on the homepage https://forum.drinkdriving.org/

Once you are at the section of the forum you would like to create a new post in you click the button titled 'Post thread'. You can then add a title to your thread where you can provide a brief description about the topic of the thread before providing a more detailed description in the text editor below this.

For replying to threads/discussions created by other people there is a reply option at the end of the thread/discussion you can use to create a reply.
