hi, I'm currently waiting for my dvla medical & my license has expired.
until yesterday my employer didn't know about my license being expiring, but they done a yearly check & have now noticed.
I explained I had a 'medical condition', that I'm awaiting a dvla medical & that meanwhile I can drive under 'section 88'.
I have a letter from the dvla confirming they've received my application, which also states that if I meet criteria (which I do) I can drive under 'section 88'. I also have a copy of the 'section 88'.
I gave both of these to my employer who is refusing to accept them under 'insurance grounds'. the only way they'll be accepted is if I get a letter from my dr which states I'm fit to drive. I today went to see my dr & he refused to give me a letter as he said this decision is up to the dvla dr, not him.
anyone else been in a similar situation & managed to get around it?
thanks, c
