Hi ALEXF, many thanks for your wise & honest words! You appear to have been somewhat of an inspiration to many people on here!
I like many others are at this awful time of our lives and need as much help and advice as possible so on the off-chance you see this I would like to draw on your positive attitude to maybe help me if possible?!
I have my medical in just under two weeks and have virtually abstained from all alcohol since Xmas except a couple nights out in Feb/March and nothing at all for the last month so the
CDT test will hopefully be fine but I'm working myself up regarding the questionnaire! How do you answer the questions honestly without either arousing suspicion that either you are lying through your teeth or you are some kind of superhuman who has never mis-used alcohol! Obviously I want/need my license back ASAP so want to avoid the dreaded letters going back and forth to my doctor (honestly nothing to hide, just worried about the extra time taken before the decision is made!) so what is deemed as misuse of alcohol? More than the daily or weekly unit recommendations? It's clear I have misused alcohol in the last 3 years because I wouldn't be in this situation but don't want to make it look like I am in any way dependent to start the whole letter writing process!
Again, many thanks for your efforts to reassure others that have got themselves into the desperate situation!!
