Drink Driving/ Company Car

A few years ago I was convicted of drink driving. Ashamed to say I was well over the legal limit and received a 28 month ban and community service.

The conviction is now spent.

I haven't yet re-applied for my license but my employer (who knows nothing of my DD conviction) has suggested the possibiity of a company car.

I'd rather that my employer didn't find out about my conviction. Would it be possible to keep this from them if I had a company car?

If you do take up the company car offer then you will most likely be covered by the company group insurance policy, most good employers should check their driver details and this will mean requesting at least a copy of your licence and counterpart. Sadly therefore the will find out about your convictions. Hopefully if you are honest to start then it shouldn't stop you getting a company car.
