Drink Driving Advise Please

Hello,

Can I please get some solicitor advise?

I have had few drinks while being on the weekend away in Essex and decided to drive back as felt fine and waited for 1 hour until getting into car.
I drove fine until on a narrow road I hit a parked car on the side as I drove too close.
The airbag popped and my car is non-drivable. I wasn't going too fast but the impact must have been strong.
When police arrived they tested my breath at 96 and then took me to hospital. Then took my blood which I am still waiting for.
I had 2 children aged 2 and 4 in my car with me which makes it worse but they were examined and no injuries.
I was taken to custody and released after 24 hours with 'under review' note.
Now I am waiting for blood results, which most likely will mirror my breath test of 96 and then court date.

What is the sentence I will receive? Will it be ban or even prison?

Good morning,

Obviously it is a bit early for me to be able to fully advise you fully on the sentence but I can tell you it is very serious. A high reading would be a problem in itself, but then having a small accident with your children in the car will certainly increase your sentence.

I would advise hiring a specialist lawyer to look at the case fully and go through your options.

So in hindsight I can go to prison for this? Have you had similar cases at least? What is the rough maximum sentence?
On the 'under review' note I was given it says I have 2 offenses:
Drunk in charge of child under age of 7
Drunk driving in Access

I am getting a specialist advise for sure and solicitor to lead my case but they need more evidence and for me to pay. Hence I am on here seeing some extra support

It is not something I usually do, and didn't realize my level was 96. And then incorrectly maneuvering my car. But I am so worried of what is going to happen now.

The maximum sentence for drink driving is a six months prison sentence and a lengthy disqualification, but if you have hired a lawyer they would be best placed to answer your questions as they know more information about yourself and the case.
