Dealing with the wait and the anxiety

The internet is evil when we're alone with it isn't it? I hope your court date goes as well as it can. An awful wait but it will be over soon and then life can start again :)
Yeah unfortunately. Thankyou, keep us updated if you hear anything! and try not beating yourself up so much you won’t be helping yourself

Just thought I'd come on and drop a quick update on my case. Had the trial today. The main piece of evidence against me (my urine test results) was struck out so the CPS entered no evidence. As a result my case was dismissed and I walked away without charge. Such a relief for it to finally be over. I've learned a valuable lesson from it though, never again will I got anywhere near my car after I've had a drink. Now I can finally start getting my life back on track after the financial hardship of shelling out several thousand pounds on solicitors fees.

Hi,

Congratulations! Lesson learnt all be it the hard way (Court waiting game/Anexity/Stress). Spread advice about what will happen & if they end up in a similar situation...they will end up in the process.

Great outcome, chuffed for you!

Kind Regards,

Stu

I thought that would be the outcome when you detailed how they obtained the urine sample, specifically the timing of it.
They really should have known better!

Thanks Louise - there's a lot of shocking claims out there. I have gone for specialist representation. But with a company that it took me a long time to find that don't made deluded claims and don't charge thousands. Mostly just because I'm too anxious to represent myself so wanted the extra support.
Hi, I’m really struggling to find a solicitor. I’ve no idea how to choose one. I wasn’t asked for a urine sample or a blood test. Is that usual?

How come the urine test was the main piece of evidence? I didn’t do one.
Do you mind me asking which solicitor you used?

The default position is that the police require you to provide a sample of breath. If the machine is broken, or there is a legitimate reason why the person cannot blow into the machine, then they move on to either a blood sample, or a urine sample, whichever is deemed appropriate. In your case you provided 2 samples of breath that were accepted so you are being prosecuted on that.
The best way to find a solicitor is to look locally. It is no use someone who is 200 miles away saying they had a great solicitor…. Because their travel costs would be astronomic.
If you say which town you are near then someone may be able to suggest one that could help. Try ringing round locally, It does NOT have to be a specialist solicitor because mitigation for drink driving is pretty much the same as mitigation for any offence. You need not pay any more than £3-400 for this.

I’m currently waiting for the outcome of my iTunes test results but have been told this could take several months.
the anxiety and uncertainty is absolutely killing me at the minute. All sorts of questions running through my mind and I’m spending far too much time on the internet (being bombarded with websites from solicitors with outlandish claims like 100% success rates on defending iTunes test charges etc).
I feel massive remorse, guilt and shame alongside the anxiety. I already have severe anxiety and depression so this is adding to the burden. I’m just wondering if others have had such a lengthy wait and how they’ve managed to cope with it all?
Thanks
Oh, don't use the A word !!!! I did and a DD2 request was made the day after a GP fit to drive form was sent back ,,, who in the world isn't Anxious or a bit depressed ?? Don't use those two words,it puts you back 3 months, I've only been waiting since march .

I like you have suffered with sleepless nights since the incident while being under investigation.

The police were supposed to do a lineup (a digital one) to have a witness identify me, I was told by my solicitor that we would be informed prior to this happening so was glad that I'd be getting some kind of warning before court.

Unfortunately the police didn't inform us and I've received a summons so the sleepless nights have returned.

It's a tough time and I'm looking forward to it being over.
