Good Afternoon,

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered a problem with Aspire or the DVLA in regards to the date your ban is up?

I was banned for 2 years on the 24th April 2018, completed the Aspire course for a 6 months reduction which should have bought my ban down to 1yr 6 Months. DVLA have advised my ban is 1yr 6 Months and 15 days?

Passed the medical, been approved for my licence and am to wait till the 8th November before I can finally drive again, but if the extra 15 days were not there I would be driving this week.

Any idea's? Only think I can think of is Aspire don't include the 15 days its takes to complete the course (3 sessions over 3 Saturdays).

Thanks.

It will not be the fault of Aspire,
What you will find that it is the court granted you a 24 week reduction, which is not 6 months. The course offers UP TO a 25% reduction so it is not always 6 months for a 24 month ban. The only time it HAS to be a 25% reduction is where a 12 month sentence is imposed, requiring a 3 month reduction.
