CTD Test

Convicted Driver Insurance
I had the test Monday 29th July had no drink for 20 days phoned today and was informed they had the tests back but had sent a letter to my doctors can someone tell me if this is normal and why do they do it.

Generally if your CDT result comes back over 2% they will automatically contact your doctor to check that there are no on going issues with alcohol.

Did you declare any medical conditions on your application? As this would also prompt them to contact your GP.

If you declared a medical problem to them then they will always write to your GP. Nothing out of the ordinary here, give your GP a call to see if they can go over the form with you during an appointment so that everything on there is accurate. Best of luck with the process!

I returned the doctors forms on Friday the 2nd August, they were received Monday 5th and my licence was issued Friday the 8th.

So you should hear soon, chase them up on the phone if you do not.

I have phoned DVLA they now say they have the response from the doctor but they have sent a form out for me to fill in about my antidepressants, what happens next, surely the doctors should have told them I have lowered my dose with a goal of coming off them completely, you never know who you will see at the doctors or who is filling in the forms you may never have seen them as I work full time my doctors appointments are usually phone appointments this is a nightmare

I took all forms directly to my GP and reviewed them before they were posted back to make sure the correct information was present in regards to my anti depressants and alcohol misuse in the past.

Sorry I can't help you with what comes next, I had my GP return a Med 4 form and then they wanted a run down of my history regarding my mental health and alcohol consumption. Once this was returned my licence was issued.

I went to the doctor with all forms that were sent to me, I believe it was 3 appointments total to have everything filled out.

This can be quite hard to fit around a work schedule, you could possibly have a phone appointment where you could fill in the form yourself but get info from your doctor like dates etc on the line.

I'm in a very similar situation all round .. had the medical and blood test etc .. they wrote myself and doctors then wrote to us both again claiming I have some mental health issue (I have never any or been seen for any) requesting more information .. sick of it 7 years ago and still paying price

Hi my license was revoked for misuse back in January they declared me dependent first off but with a doctors letter they changed it to misuse the doctor also informed them of my antidepressants at the time I didn't declare that on my two dvla medicals because this had already been explained to them did you declare it on yours ?

I didn't have anything to declare .. I declared my minimal alcohol use .. but was totally alchol free for best part of a month prior to medial and CDT .. I'm pretty sure they are just fishing for any excuse not to give me my licence back as I know after 3 - 4 weeks abstination my CDT level will be low enough for them not to refuse .. there is no mental health issues on my medical records at all but yet they claim there is a potential mental health risk so won't release a licence .. I have spoken to my doctors several times and they have confined there is nothing on my record to worry about and nothing that I don't know about .. the DVLA refuse to tell me what it is that has made them go down this avenue .. I have established though that's "the medical team" (at the DVLA) have no medical knowledge or training (I don't mean the call centre that one rings for an update) so I don't get how they can make an assessmentit's just like any Tom dick or Harry making a judgement call on your ability to drove

They have had the forms back from my doctors and have now sent me something to fill in about my antidepressants any ideas?
It will probably be an M1 form (mental health) .. slippery slope I think is that form.. (I have just returned mine) it' asks about drugs and alcohol medication and conditions .. if you think your fit to drive get your doctor to write to them saying so

Don't know still waiting for it to arrive if it's not here Monday ill have to phone them should have had my licence back 8th September? This is unbelievable if you weren't depressed before you will be by the time you get through this

It will be an M1 you can download them off the gov website if you want to see what's in it .. but I would not recommend filling it in until you get yours just in case it's something different or has amendments .. you can ring and ask them if it's an M1 they will tell you if so .. link is below

When I went for my blood test I was told to take doctors details list of medication & name of any specialists I was under, all original documents
I got there and he said my Secretary normally deals with the paperwork. I got all the paperwork out and was told he didn't need it when I filled in my details he stoped me when I got to my doctors details, we then began answering the questions and I said about antidepressants and offered him my list of medication he said no he would just put the antidepressants down. This doesn't fill me with confidence it must seem to them that I'm not telling them everything
