I was working in Guadeloupe. 2 days before I come home I crash my own hire car. I had been out for dinner and never drink and drive, I have no idea why I did it or why I got in my car. I crashed and ambulance and police came to scene. I was breathalyser at the scene, 0.83 or 0.86 I can’t fully remember. I just know how over the limit I was. I wasn’t taken to a police station or arrested, a friend came to the scene and they let them take me home.
I had to give the french police my license and they noted the details down. They also took my number. It was a week ago today and I aren’t been contacted. I have no idea what is going to happen now.
Please can anyone advice what will happen.
My hire car company made me fill out a constat form, French insurance accident form, they are now asking me to fill out a form to confirm I wasn’t under the influence of alcohol. I cannot fill this in as I would be lying. I don’t want to do myself over incase I am not charged however I don’t think the hire company will get their pay out without it.
Please help.
