I was in a car accident in may, finally concluded today.
I had a call this morning from my solicitor to say the cps are dropping the case (2 days before trial). They waited 3 months! They had failed to disclose supposed statement of dr.
There were lots of opinions, assumptions and lies in the evidence and they had no case. (Just a 4 min video and police statement filled with opinion) They had not followed procedure. I was innocent of failure to supply. I was unconscious in hospital, police were of the view I was pretending to be asleep but a Drs note on my medical notes stated "patient had no capacity".
I did not need to pay thousands.. people will say you need a specialist..I was quoted 2-8k from various places but went with an excellent local solicitor. They tried to keep my costs down, I only paid £850 as it didn't go to full trial.
I am over the moon. it is worth fighting, the cps seem to hope you'll crack and plead guilty when you may not be. Good luck everyone.
