Admiral Insurance Drink and Drugs policy

Convicted Driver Insurance
All he said was he had to report back to Admiral to say that he had spoken to me.

This is who they were.

I will be writing to Admiral again this evening and title it as a compliant letter.

Thanks, your comments really do help me keep my composer.

It’s appreciated

Interesting. They are not your normal debt collection agency.
They specialise in insurance fraud investigation, credit hire validation and indemnity issues.
I wonder if they can answer some of your questions to validate the claim and explain how Admiral's actions fit in law and MIB process?

Sounds like they might be empowered to negotiate a deal.

Still worth submitting a complaint though.

I`m sorry, but all I can say is read the small print. Admiral, as any other insurance company, will have stated what they cover and what they don`t. On a more personal level, anyone caught drink or drug driving deserves everything they get. Before people go searching for my name on here, I asked for advice over a friends daughter who was caught drink driving; she received a 20 month ban and quite rightly so.

Welcome Cartini.

We're used to self-righteous, clueless stalkers.

I quite understand why people are outraged by certain offences / behaviours . I’m less sure why they feel a need to seek advice on behalf others re such conduct and/ or go specifically onto chat pages to share their views . Also : why would anyone search for your name ?

The question about GDPR popped into my head last night.
While I was a customer of admiral and had a policy with them, I’m sure it would have consented for them to pass my date on (in the small print)
BUT since they have cancelled my policy and I am no longer a customer, I now haven’t given them my consent to pass my details on to a 3rd party ?
Am I talking nonsense ? I might be but it’s still going into my compliant letter

I think we are fully aware of this, so thanks for stating the obvious…

The point here is not to get away with anything, people make mistakes and have to deal with the consequences- which I think most people on here have or currently are.

The whole point of this forum is to ensure we learn and assist each other so that everyone is treated fairly and respectfully by a huge cooperation that don’t follow the correct process and use intimating tactics to make individual pay over the odds for there actions.

Have a nice day

Valid question.

I don't know much about GDPR.
I think you can also ask for any information they store about you.

Worth looking into. Might have to trawl through their data privacy policy and the T&Cs and the law.

Cartini (aka Andy) used the site to ask a solicitor for advice on reduction in sentence due to mitigating circumstances for his girlfriend's D&D daughter.

But everyone else deserves their full punishment, of course.

it was 9:26pm when Andrea sent that message, so he'd probably had a few baby-shams hence the keyboard warrior message

I think GDPR is about passing information on to other companies who have no association with you. The insurance company has passed the data on regarding an ongoing association with you and it is regarding the business that they collected the data in the first place about. I would think that this all falls within permitted data sharing. But still worth being blunt, WHAT IS THIS COMPANY CONTACTING ME ABOUT AS I HAVEN'T AGREED FOR THEM TO HAVE MY INFORMATION???

Thanks Tom.
I have indeed asked that question - with a very similar wording.
I have sent both Admiral and the company coming to my door a letter of compliant.
I have asked the company that came to my door what data they hold on me, how they have obtained it and why they have it? And I have asked to delete it.

good luck mate - Depressed Dad deserves a medal for all the advice and guidance he has given to people trying to deal with Admiral and their questionable ethics.

i might obtain his address from admiral (as they seem to give details out willy nilly) and turn up on his door with a bottle of whisky as a thank you :)

disclaimer i wont be drinking it and driving home .... hahaha (bad joke i know)

Hi,
So I got into a drunk drive crash just under 3 years ago now and I am dreading getting notified. They said it’s very possible they will recover in the future and the time is probably almost here.
I just wanted to find out what was your outcome? Also how do you recommend I deal with it?
I’m pretty sure the sum they are going to want is over 20k and I don’t have that money. Nor do I really want to pay it I lost everything because of this mistake and this is like a weight I still can’t shake. I deserved it and I learnt my lesson justice done but I feel like there must be something I can do.

The insurance I was with was A Choice

Thanks for keeping this thread active:)

hi everyone, ok so a bit off the subject but what would happen if you told an insurer that youve been caught drink driving but when you get your results back they are under ?

When was the last time they contacted you? Why are they more likely to contact you now?

My son's case timed out after they gave up trying to get the money. I have no idea if it was deliberate or it just slipped through the net.
Others have agreed a repayment plan. It's very difficult to track the outcomes as people rarely come back to tell us.

How to deal with it? Wait for them to contact you. Ask for all the details of the claim. Challenge anything that looks wrong or inflated. Read some of the other posts in this thread. It is pretty repetitive.

If you don't have any way to pay them then they will get little or nothing from you.

Tell your insurer.

If you were involved in a RTC then Admiral will probably stick with failed roadside test for the purposes of cancelling your insurance. It doesn't need a conviction. Just being over the prescribed limit, or likely to have been over the limit is enough.

I never did a road side as he never had one just a blood test
