2nd ban in 10 year

Hi

I was banned in 2009 November dr10 24 months

I was then caught again in December 2018 and banned automatically for 3 years as it was In the 10 year category is that correct I never had a lawyer when I went to court is it from when you are convicted or after your first ban is up??
