Hi there
I was found drunk in my car on a Friday night by police officers and subsequently arrested. At the police station I blew 6 times the limit.
I was detained in a cell until the Monday, taken to court and charged with drink driving.
At the time of the arrest I had no intention of driving the car, I had returned to my car, which was parked in a public car park, to retrieve my house keys and decided to remain in the car to warm myself up as it was cold that evening and then walk the 1.3 miles back to my house. Can you tell me if there are grounds to have the charge reduced from drink driving, to drink and in charge? And if so, what are the potential penalties?
