I've recently got my license back after a DR10, LC20 and IN10. I tried calling the specialist brokers and was getting quotes in the region of £2,600 plus for a Citroen C1. I tried Confused for a Peugeot 207 and had quotes from Ladybird 🐞 and 1st Central less than £2000 which confused me because the Pug is in a higher insurance band. My question is are these companies to be trusted? There are so many poor reviews from people being ripped off especially 🐞 but 1st Central too. What are people's experiences of these brokers please?

Why not try the comparison websites? Last year my insurance for a Jag XF was only £870. This year it has sky rocketed as I still have a DR10 that won't fall off until July this year.

The cheapest I could get this year was £1,440 and that was through a comparison site.

My own brokers could not get it down below £1,700.

I also tried these 'speciliast,' sites, but to be honest they are incredibly expensive.

I've tried Compare the market. The cheapest quote was Ladybird @ £1,700 but when I called them the price went up to over £2,000. I called a specialist broker for high risk who quoted me over £2,000 too. It seems that I'll have to pay the price or give up the idea of driving for now.

I've been with 1st central for 2 years with no complaints. Was also with them at 19 with a no fault claim and they went above and beyond handling it. Can't really recommend them enough.
